  • Where are you based?

  • When are you open?
    We are open Tuesday - Sunday 10am-5pm during term time and Monday - Sunday 10am-5pm during school holidays. We are also open on Bank Holidays and for special events. See our events page for more information on opening times.
  • Is there an entrance fee?
    We charge a £6.00 per painter session fee. This covers the cost of the paints, glaze and firing in the kiln. You then pay for whichever items you choose to paint.
  • Do you have to pay for adults?
    We charge a £6.00 per painter session fee. Those coming to observe but not paint, do not pay a fee.
  • Do I need to book?
    We would recommend booking in advance especially during the school holidays and at the weekend. We will seat walk-ins if we have the space. You can book online or via telephone or email.
  • Are the paints safe?
    All our paints are underglaze paints and are child safe, non toxic and washable.
  • How much does a general painting session cost?
    We charge a £6.00 per painter session fee which covers the cost of the paints, glazing and firing. You then pay for the items you choose to paint. Bisque prices range from £7.00-£25.00.
  • How long does a general painting session last?
    Our painting sessions last for 2 hours. Current session times are 10am, 12:30pm and 3:00pm, Tuesday - Sunday.
  • Do I need to pay a deposit?
    Yes. We take a £6.00 per painter session fee as a deposit. This covers the cost of the paints, glaze and firing in the kiln. Then, when you arrive you just pay for the items you choose to paint. Deposits can be transferred to another day if you let us know 24 hours in advance. Deposits are not refundable if you do not attend your booked session. For handbuilding, we take a £6.00 per person deposit. This is deducted from the cost of the session. For Potter's Wheel Experiences a 50% deposit will be required upon booking.
  • If I come and paint today, can I take my items home with me straight away?"
    All our items are painted using underglaze paints, not acrylics. These paints need to be glazed and fired. This process takes 7 days to complete so all items painted will be ready to collect 7 days later.
  • When will my items be ready?
    All general painting will be ready to collect 7 days later. Lasting impressions will be ready to collect within 14-28 days. We will notify you when it is ready to collect. Baubles and personalised handprint items are ready to collect 14 days later. We will notify you when it is ready to collect. If you have any items that you need in a rush, please discuss this with us and we will see if we can do it.
  • Do I need my yellow sheet?
    We will need the number at the top right hand corner for collections. Without this number, it makes it very hard for us to track down your items. Please take a photo of the number so you will still have it incase you lose the yellow sheet.
  • Can my friend collect my items?
    You are welcome to send a friend to collect your items for you, but they will require the number from the top of your yellow sheet. Without this number, it makes it very hard for us to track down you items.
  • Is the Potter's Wheel running?
    Yes! Our Potter's Wheel Experience sessions run on most days that we are open but do get booked up quickly. We would recommend booking as far in advance as possible.
  • What age is the Potter's Wheel for?
    Our Potter's Wheel Experience sessions are for aged 16+. Out Clay to Finished Pot sessions are for ages 6-15. We can run private Potter's Wheel Sessions for mixed age groups, please email us at info@peacockpotterybarn.co.uk to discuss your requirements.
  • Can I paint my pot as soon as I have made it?
    Your pot will be ready to paint 14 days after making so you will need to return to decorate it at a later date.
  • Do you sell vouchers?
    Yes we do! We sell vouchers for Potter's Wheel Experiences and general vouchers. Vouchers can be purchased online or in person at the workshop.
  • I have vouchers from before lockdown, can I still use them?"
    All vouchers are valid for 12 months. Vouchers purchased before March 2020 were extended until December 2021. Unfortunately, we can no longer accept vouchers that were purchased before March 2020.
  • Do you have a pricelist?
    All items are individually priced and range between £7 and £24.
  • How much do Lasting Impressions cost?
    Please see the Lasting Impressions page for a full list of prices.
  • How do I order a Paint-at-Home kit?
    Take a look at the Paint-at-Home section in our online shop. There you can choose the items you wish to paint at home. Place your order and we will get everything ready for you to collect at any time during our normal opening hours. You can keep Paint-at-Home kits for 2 weeks. See our Paint at Home page for more information.
  • Do I need to book for Lasting Impressions?
